News Update
Please read below for a further update
on the status of the club.
With support from David Wright MP, Radio Shropshire,
The Shropshire Star and Telford Journal we appealed for assistance in finding
a replacement 'Head Coach' and teachers to maintain the running of the Club.
I am pleased to inform you that Northgate ASC in Bridgnorth has offered
their support
and are looking at providing a suitably qualified 'Head Coach' and teaching/coaching
personnel with effect from 11th April 2008.
Northgate have a well established club with an excellent level of both swimmers and
teaching/coaching personnel which will be of great benefit to the swimmers of 'The Court ASC'
. Both clubs will retain their own identities and no merger will take place.
Clive Durose will work with Northgate personnel in the interim to ensure a smooth handover
and allow for all swimmers to be placed in suitable groups, relative to their abilities.
A huge 'thank you' must go to Clive for his support over the past six months. Without
him the club wouldn't have survived.
Pool times will, at present, remain as normal
but some re-structuring of the swimming groups may occur. As part of the agreement with
Northgate there may be an opportunity for our swimmers to attend some of Northgate's
swimming sessions and visa-versa, with Northgate attending some of ours. A major
positive from this is that both clubs will be gaining greater access to pool time
and teaching/coaching support. Details will be communicated once this transition
has taken place.
The next step is the development of the club and it's
volunteers in relation to the following:-
The provision of training to prevent a re-occurrence of
the past six months - we require volunteers willing to attend coaching courses
and become qualified to assist on poolside. We have the funds to do this. We
just need your time!
The committee cannot function with the current three members.
Assistance is required to fill vacant positions, collect monies on club nights
and relieve some of the burden carried by the committee over the last six
months in preventing the club from closure.
To re-build the Club membership as some sessions are running
at a loss at present. Tell your family and friends about the Club.
Unfortunately due to time constraints concerning the above, we will not be able to
attend the first round gala of the 'Nuneaton junior Diddy League' at Tamworth on
Saturday 12th April. However, we hope to have a squad, consisting of suitable
swimmers from both The Court and from Northgate, available to compete at the next
gala in May.
Memberships are now also due and forms must be completed at the
front desk.
We would like to thank you for your support over this
difficult period and continued support in the future.

Swim 21
Swim 21 Accreditation is a 'quality
mark'. It recognises nationally and regionally the clubs
that are committed to providing safe, effective and
quality services for the benefit of their members. This represents a significant
step in the development of our Club, at both poolside
and administrative level, it shows that the Club is well
structured and run in an effective manner that benefits
both staff and members. Congratulations to all those
who worked so hard to make this happen.
